Can Chocolate Cause Acne
Can Chocolate Cause Acne. There is no evidence that cocoa beans, from which chocolate is made, cause pimples. The two major causes of acne are hormones and inflammation, and sugar affects both of them.
So, if you give people a big load of chocolate, maybe just the stress. This is because dark chocolate contains ingredients that are linked to skin acne just like sugar and fat. Not all types of chocolate or cocoa cause acne and pimples, chocolate contains high amounts of sugar and refined oils which are proven to be an acne-causing ingredient.
For example, an article in Pediatric Annals, a pediatrics journal, stated that "years ago [it was] demonstrated that chocolate consumption had no effect on acne…This serves as a cautionary example of how 'research-based evidence' should be vigorously scrutinized prior to being incorporated into clinical practice." Chocolate may not cause acne.
There Is No Evidence That Chocolate Itself Causes Acne.
However, chocolate in itself is not responsible for acne. The chocolate that we tend to eat (such as white chocolate or milk chocolate) is often high in fat as well as refined sugars, which in turn can potentially cause an acne breakout. This is because dark chocolate contains ingredients that are linked to skin acne just like sugar and fat.
