Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting With Melted Chocolate. Once the chocolate is completely melted take the bowl out of the microwave, stir it together and set the bowl aside. Add the melted chocolate, salt, sifted confectioners' sugar, half-and-half, and vanilla extract.
Beat all ingredients with an electric mixer or stand mixer (or by hand, which won't be as whipped and fluffy but still works). Add powdered sugar, cocoa, salt, milk or whipping cream, and vanilla. Beat the chocolate into the cream cheese mixture to produce a smooth glossy frosting.
Add the cream cheese and butter to the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment.
Melt chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of simmering water, stirring until smooth.
In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla and salt. Taste, then add another pinch of salt if desired.
